Facts, quotes and images for journalists, podcasters and partners writing about Labs Nutrition Sweden AB and the Nordic supplement industry.
Fredrik Viklund had spent fifteen years developing dietary supplements for other people's companies — more than 500 brands worldwide, thousands of formulas, and a reputation as one of Europe's most prolific product developers. What he did not have was a factory of his own.
So he built one. Fredrik sold his apartment and his car, moved back in with his parents, and put every saved krona into equipment, premises and people. There were no outside investors and no safety net. In 2023 he founded Labs Nutrition Sweden AB together with Joakim Ryttinger.
Three years later the company manufactures powders and ready-to-drink products for more than 120 brands across Europe and ships to over 17 countries, from an IP-certified facility in Åkersberga outside Stockholm. Eleven people work there full time, launching around five new products a week, with samples and development normally completed in two to three weeks.
What makes the company unusual is how open it is. Clients are invited into the development room to taste, adjust and approve their own products. In an industry built on secret formulas and distant contract factories, Labs Nutrition sells proximity: you can stand in the room where your product is made.
More background on the team and philosophy is on the about page.
“I sold my apartment and my car and moved back in with my parents. Every krona went into the factory. It was not a safe bet — it was the only bet I was willing to make.”
“Brands are invited into our development room. If you can see how your product is made, you can trust what is in it.”

Why European supplement brands are moving production out of Asia and into short-lead-time Swedish facilities.
How a small team turns a brand idea into a finished, EU-compliant product in a matter of weeks.
Clients are invited into product development — an unusual practice in an industry built on secret formulas.
